==Background==
Cultural studies is a field of theoretically engaged cultural analysis that focuses on political dynamics of contemporary cultures. Researchers for this field of study usually investigate how cultural practices relates to other systems of power associated with social phenomena. Culture is not viewed as fixed but as constantly interacting sets of practices.
Richard Hoggart coined the term in 1964 when he founded the Birmingham Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies.
