Introductory paragraph to the term. Brief definition

Background

Stereotyping is to have a thought that can be adopted about specific types of individuals or certain ways of doing things. The term stereotype was first coined in 1798 in the field of typography.


Uses in other disciplines

Stereotypes are common in different cultural media. They take the form of dramatic characters. These kinds of characters can be found in the world of playwrights like Bertolt Brecht, Dario Fo, and Jacques Lecoq.
