Meliorism is the idea that humans make the world a better place. This idea of humans making the world better demonstrates that as humans we believe that we are the ones to improve everything. [1] Meliorism is a way for humans to continue to progress and move forward.

Background

This concept is another important idea of Pragmatism since demonstrates the recognition that there are ways of improving the life and place we live in. [2] Philosopher John Dewey used meliorism to understand American education and figured out ways to solve the problems it was facing. [3]
