Rhetoric refers to the practice of creating and informing opinions through media, persuading audiences toward a way of thinking.
Background
Dating back to Aristotle. rhetoric was first theorized in his book "The Rhetoric" in which he outlines the significance and inter workings of rhetoric in society. As of 1976, the understanding of rhetoric as linguistic expression that can have a profound affect on the lives of others.
